Property Dashboard
The Property Dashboard is your central hub for managing everything about a property in Oakden Property. From here you can track systems, view case history, manage contractors, and schedule checkups.
Adding a Property
To add a new property, navigate to Properties in the main menu and click Add Property. Enter the address, property type (house, condo, townhouse, etc.), and any notes. You can manage multiple properties from a single account, which is useful if you own rental units or vacation homes.
System Tracking
Each property has a Systems tab where you can track the status of major home systems:
- HVAC — Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
- Plumbing — Pipes, fixtures, water heater
- Electrical — Wiring, panel, outlets
- Roof — Shingles, flashing, gutters
- Foundation — Structural base, basement walls
- Exterior — Siding, windows, doors
Each system can be set to one of four statuses: Good, Monitor, Needs Attention, or Critical. System statuses feed directly into your Health Score calculation.
Case History
Every diagnosis you run creates a case that appears in your property's case history. Cases include the original diagnosis, severity, issue code, and current status (open, in progress, or resolved). You can add notes, upload photos, and track the resolution of each issue over time.
Contractor Management
The Contractors tab lets you save contact information for trades you have worked with. Link contractors to specific cases or systems so you have a record of who did what work. This builds a maintenance history that is valuable for insurance claims, warranty tracking, and resale.
Scheduled Checkups
Set up recurring checkup reminders under the Checkups tab. Seasonal checkups (spring and fall are most common) help catch small issues before they become expensive repairs. Oakden Property can suggest checkup schedules based on your property type and climate.
Repair History
Every repair you log is saved permanently. This creates a documented maintenance trail that proves you have taken care of the property. Include the date, cost, contractor, and a brief description of the work completed.
